IIMore About Me

Building purposeful solutions

I'm Marcus Gomes, a software engineer with more than 15 years of experience, currently a Senior Software Engineer at Apollo.io. I'm passionate about solving complex problems and building solutions that actually matter.

Key Areas I Work In

Frontend

React · Next.js · Three.js

Backend

NestJS · Rust · Node.js

DevOps

AWS · Kubernetes · CI/CD

Blockchain

Solidity · DeFi · Web3 auth

My main stack includes TypeScript (NestJS, React, Next.js), Rust, Solidity and AWS/Kubernetes, but more than just knowing tools, I care about using technology in a smart, clean, and efficient way.

What drives me is turning ideas into reality. I've been a CTO, a co-founder and a founding engineer, taking products from zero to production and leading teams that consistently deliver high-quality work.

Outside my day job I build my own products, like Lotvs, Breakwatch, Servyx and Yield Sniper, and I write: my first two books are out now on Amazon.

At the end of the day, my work is about clarity: removing the noise and making things actually work.

IIIMy Journey

Work Experience

From PHP developer to CTO, co-founder and founding engineer. These are the roles that shaped how I build software.

  1. Oct 2024 — Jan 2026

    Founding Engineer

    MoreMarkets

    • Owned the 0→1 production platform on AWS, from greenfield to launch: networking, IAM, secrets and key management, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and security baselines.
    • Built the reliability and observability foundation (Prometheus, Grafana, alerting, incident workflows) for faster detection and triage.
  2. Nov 2022 — Dec 2025

    Senior Software Engineer

    UpLink

    • Took multiple initiatives from idea to production, owning backend architecture and cloud execution end to end.
    • Built and evolved AWS/Kubernetes infrastructure for a high-traffic product, with deployments and environments automated through IaC and CI/CD.
  3. Feb 2022 — Jan 2023

    Squad Leader

    bolttech(opens in a new tab)

    • Joined as a Software Engineer working across microservices, then built and led a new squad from scratch: hiring, execution and delivery.
    • Took partner integrations from idea to production in 3 months, coordinating product, engineering and external partners.
  4. May 2019 — Dec 2022

    Co-Founder & Senior Software Engineer

    Uhuble

    • Built the product from 0→1, owning architecture, backend, smart contracts, infrastructure and delivery.
    • Designed and implemented a non-custodial Ethereum wallet, plus fiat-to-crypto purchase flows through payment gateway integrations.

IVWhat I Build

Projects

Products I've built and run, plus some of my open-source work.

Products (4)

  • Lotvs

A dollar and euro account for you and your AI agents. Connect Claude or ChatGPT to read your account, and nothing moves without your approval.

    #fintech#ai-agents#mcp

  • Breakwatch

Monitors the third-party APIs your code depends on and alerts you in Slack when a breaking change lands, down to the exact file that breaks.

    #devtools#github-app#ai

  • Servyx

Scans your AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure for idle resources, oversized instances and forgotten services, then tells you exactly what to cut.

    #aws#kubernetes#finops

  • Yield Sniper

A DeFi yield screener. Every morning it screens thousands of pools against hard risk rules, scores the survivors 0–100 and sends the best stablecoin, BTC, ETH and XRP yields.

VWriting

Books

My first two books are out now on Amazon. One brings Stoic philosophy to the daily life of people who build software; the other is a personal book of meditations.

A Daily Thought of a StoicDev: Ancient Stoic wisdom for the people who build software

A Daily Thought of a StoicDev

Ancient Stoic wisdom for the people who build software

by Marcus Gomes · Kindle & paperback

One page for every day of the year. Each page pairs a passage from Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus or Seneca with a short reflection for people who build software: in the code review, during the outage, before the hard conversation with your team.

Cuore Selvaggio: Private Meditations on Discipline, Freedom, Love, and the Courage to Become

Cuore Selvaggio

Private Meditations on Discipline, Freedom, Love, and the Courage to Become

by Marcus Bego · Kindle & paperback

Eighty meditations in eight books, on the inner frontier, work, money and freedom, love and fatherhood, and the unfinished man. Written while still climbing, not from the top of the mountain.
